Laptop Sleeve — A Classic Roll-Top Carry

The Laptop Sleeve is a clean, functional piece designed with a touch of old-school charm. Created to hold a 13" laptop, it features a roll-top flap and two securing straps to keep your device safely in place. With no handles or shoulder straps, it functions more like a hand-carried portfolio, giving it a timeless and professional look that pairs perfectly with both modern and classic styles.

Recommended Leather

I used 4–5oz regular temper vegetable-tanned leather for this project. This thickness gives the sleeve enough structure to protect the laptop without adding unnecessary bulk. The regular temper makes rolling the top clean and easy, while still maintaining a refined, crisp look.

Design Insight

The inspiration came from vintage work bags and document holders. I wanted something minimal and functional — a sleeve that felt more like a crafted object than a mass-produced case. And since everyone’s device is different, the design is easy to resize to fit whatever laptop you use.
