The Classic Notebook pattern is a PDF leather crafting template to create a notebook or passport leather cover/wallet. The leather pattern employs a “mix and match” approach to combine different elements to create various notebook and passport covers - Build Your Own Cover (BYOC). I have included nine of the many possible combinations - ‘recipes’ - that mention the pattern elements that you will need and the skill level required. Additionally, in your download folder, you will find a couple of images showcasing the included Classic Notebook Cover variations that you can show to your customers to assist them in choosing the cover design they want - a 'menu' so to speak for them to order from.
The Classic notebook cover is designed to fit Field Notes notebooks (5.5 by 3.5 inches) or Moleskine Cahier Journals (pocket size: 5.5 by 3.5 inches) or standard size passports (B7 - 88/125mm) plus a drawing/writing device plus various number of cards depending on the design you choose to make. The modular journal pattern is a great way to match your customers specific needs with a custom design and capacity of the notebook cover you will craft for them. Some of the possible designs will be fitting for two notebooks and a writing device, while others can be focused on wallet functionalities fitting one notebook and more cards for example. The pattern also includes 3mm optional trim allowance for easier and smoother edge finishing.

Dimensions: 15.5/10.5cm (~6/4 inches), with pen loop the width is 12.5cm (5 inches)
Skill level: Beginner to Advanced depending on the 'recipe' used.
Leather:
> 1.4-1.6mm thickness (3.5-4 oz), for the exterior;
> 1.2-1.4mm thickness (3-3.5oz), for the interior parts & loops, medium to stiff temper
Pattern specific tools/materials:
> 1mm or 2mm hole punch; some skiving may be required as part of the build depending on the 'recipe' you choose.
>Print pattern at 100% scale and verify size using the Print Accuracy Test. Measure and cut on the outside edge of the lines. Stitching holes in the pattern are 4mm off the edge (unless otherwise mentioned in the patterns) and are spaced at 3.85mm.
